Baby Hair Blues

Long hair throwback! For this look, I simply threw on my varsity jacket, a plaid flannel around my waist, some chucks, and tied up my hair in the messiest bun possible (baby hair and all) and walked out of the house without a care in the world. I live for days like this when everything you seem to throw on just works. I was going for a sporty/casual look, but added a little feminine flare with my fit-and-flare navy skirt. It wasn't until a couple hours later that I realized I had this whole blue colorway going on.

Snow Bunny Day

It's that winter time of the year, aka snow season, so I made a last minute day trip to Lake Tahoe to enjoy some snow pow with good company. The three hour drive to Tahoe wasn't too bad of a wait, nor was the weather all too cold. We made it to Boreal Resort and surprisingly it was actually warm and sunny despite the 14 degree weather. I began snowboarding a little less than 3 years ago with only once-a-year snow trips to actually suffice as "practice sessions," however my progression continues little by little each year so I'm not complaining. However, this time I totally psyched myself out before even trying to board down the mountain. I grabbed a couple brews after that and what do you know, my confidence level shot right back up. Funny how alcohol does that to you. Later that night, we made it to my favorite sushi place in Truckee called the Drunken Monkey (I recommend this place to anyone and everyone visiting the North Tahoe area). We ordered some uni, another highly recommended order just because the freshness is so worth tasting, and my go-to sake sashimi plate. I eat sashimi almost every week, I swear, it will be the death of me. But since this is a fashion blog, here's my not-so-fashionable outfit the day, or my "marshmallow" look if I may say. I just grabbed this snow jacket by Burton the other day when I visited the San Jose Snow Expo. It was such a great deal being originally priced at $280 right down to $108. That's more than half the price! The jacket also features a hobo sleeve for your thumbs, fur trim that is removable around the hood, and air vents just in case boarding starts making you drip a sweat. All in all, I'm definitely planning to go to Tahoe again and make it more than just an annual trip for sure. Definitely a great excuse to work on my snowboarding technique, maybe even a give a chance to try routes other than the bunny slope, haha!

Bart Simpson

Calling all Bad boy Simpson lovers! Find me snuggling up this fall with America's favorite not-so-sweetheart, Bart Simpson. I love how the sweater instantly "grunge-ifies" everything from leggings, skirts, jeans, etc., whatever your bad-gal-self desires. It's such a quirky statement piece that it honestly doesn't matter what you're pairing it with. I decided to keep it casual yet grungy with some leather messenger shorts, but finished it off with my trusty pair of Litas to dress up the look. The outfit also wouldn't look complete without my "bad hair day" beanie to instantly tame my mane and toughen it all up.
